Klasse SG Question ??

Hi,

I did a search but couldn't find the answer. About waiting 24hrs between coats of Klasse SG; my car will remain in the garage for those 24hrs. I know that it will accumalate a little dust and mosquitos.

In order to prevent the dust from scratching the paint, do I wash the car then apply the Klasse SG, or use a QD Spary, or do I just go ahead and apply another layer?

Please let me know.

Thank you

I would wash it. Better safe than sorry IMO. Some people would just QD it, but not me. My garage stays clean enough that I don't have to wash when I do this, but if there's any question in your mind I'd wash it.

Well, I'm going to disagree just on this basis. If you have a decently enclosed garage, and it is only going to be one day, isn't this why we have qd sprays? I understand wanting to be safe, but IMO it is a lot of extra effort to rewash the car. You might use some Poorboys S&W if you are really paranoid, but I'd think you'd be OK without another wash and just use a good lubricating qd. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies all... I don't know why my garage gets so dusty

I thought QD spray was to maintain a waxy look, and is to be used right after washing the car. I just ordered Clay, Klasse AIO and Klasse SG. I will probably purchase P21s or S100.

Prior to this I used to just wash with Zymol car wash, and wax with NXT. I know the car has to look better than it does.

Thanks for all the responses. If anyone has any other opinions please post. I am sure this will be helpful to others also.

Might try dusting off with Cali duster and fill a spray bottle with water and use that to clean the rest off with a microfiber. That is if QD will actually have an affect on the bonding.

The "Spritz" is listed in the discontinued items section and there is no longer a link to order it. The "Glanz" still has a link, but it is listed as out of stock.

From the feedback on the Detailing Spritz so far (streaking issues), it doesn't appear that anyone is too satisfied with it as a replacement for the items above.

Carnuba Spritz is still listed the Acrylic Spritz is now not listed for sale. There are some threads about trying to keep them both continued - looks as if they failed.

The new Sonus Detailing Spritz ( said to be repalcing both the above) has not worked well for a few off us on here, streaking for me.

Any moisture will compromise the crosslinking...

^^^ Good point :D

I think we worry too much about the cross linking issues, it's not that big of a deal, especially if most of us layer several layers anyway. We often put another layer or restart everything before the initial coat wears off anyway.
