Klasse & paint chip repair

SETUP: I have AIO, SG and 10xSouveran on my truck. I also have a number of stone induced paint flaws. I have ordered PaintScratch base coat and clear coat along with Langka for a "driveway party" paint repair session.

THE CLEANING QUESTIONS: I know I can get the Souveran off the paint using blue Dawn. I know I can pull the "crap" out of the paint with clay. Will the clay also strip the AIO and SG? If not, how is it removed?

PAINTING AND CLEANUP: I'm planning on visiting an automotive paint store to buy a quart of something recommended to me called PrepSol to get all the goo out of the chips and scratches and to prep the existing paint for new layers. After the touchups, I'm planning to use Langka to help minimize my "errors" then clay to remove all the topcoat overspray I can, before a complete vehicle DACP, IP, FP. Then re-AIO and either SG or PUPP followed by Souveran x N.

Comments and suggestions please. Thanks in advance

Yeah, Prepsol will strip any sealants, oils, and waxes. If you're going to have some Prepsol on hand, skip the Dawn wash . . . just wash with your regular car shampoo, then hit it with Prepsol, then clay it. Should be naked paint when your done.

<Homer>Mmmmmm, naked . . . </Homer>

Anyone know of a source for Prepsol in Houston? Source anywhere? Manufacturer's web site?

Body shops and paint vendors I have asked don't even know of it. They haven't heard of Klasse either so cannot say whether the stuff they DO use for paint prep will remove Klasse

Gonzo,

I think the word "prepsol" is kind of like "kleenex", in that it's become a generic term. Prepsol may be a brand name (I'm not sure), but the term "prepsol" has come to mean a solvent to clean oil, wax, etc. from paint. I know that Hi-Temp's product is called "Prep-Solve", and 3M makes Prep Solvent-70 (a water based solvent). Your paint/body shops may not know it by the "prepsol" name, but tell them you want whatever solvent they would use to clean wax and oil from a panel before painting, that should work just fine.

When I used Prepsol I bought it where I bought DuPont auto paint products. I believe it is/was a DuPont product.

PPG (Ditzler) DX330 wax and grease remover is good also.
