Klasse or Zymol HD Cleanse?

After washing my car this past weekend I did the baggie test and felt a lot of surface crud. I clayed it about 6 weeks ago, so what I felt seemed excessive (I don't live near a railroad and I just polished it the previous weekend using DACP). I think what I was feeling was probably sap from parking too close to some inconsiderate tree.:p



I'm trying to put together enough stuff to place an order and I'm wondering if Klasse AIO would be a good choice to use on the car at this point or if Zymol HD Cleanse might be better?:nixweiss

Neither one is going to do anything for the bumps. They are both less aggresive than the DACP you used the week before. I would suggest claying it again and seeing how it feels then. I would choose AIO if you had to choose between the two, but I really don't think it will do anything for the bumps.
 
LArry--doubt if cleanse will take it off; maybe the clay won't even work--look at 3m Fine; I didi a problem hood on my Explorer last weekend and it took off 95% of a really nasty surface
 
What was the genus of the offending, inconsiderate tree?



A good washing and claying should remove the "stuff"...
 
Don't know. I'm only guessing that it is sap. You can't see it or really even feel with a bare hand. It only really shows up with the baggie test. Since I clayed not long ago I just think it's something on the surface and would come off with a good cleaner/polish product. That's why I thought something like AIO would take care of it and then I could just put a coat of wax over it. I wasn't planning on breaking out the PC again for couple of weeks.



Ron, do you have any AIO? I'd like to try it on a small area and see if it helps before I invest in a whole bottle.

This could be the kind of surface contamination that autoint created ABC for. There are impurities in the finish that even clay can't remove. That could be what you are feeling. I can't imagine how it got there, but it kind of sounds like it.



If you have something on the surface that clay didn't remove and DACP didn't remove then I can pretty much guarantee you that AIO isn't going to remove it either. Its a great cleaner for oxidation but that isn't the problem you seem to have. AIO isn't anything like clay. If there are bumps on the surface that you can't see with your eyes and can only feel through the baggie test, then it is going to require using a method you haven't used yet to take care of it. Clay didn't work and polishing didn't work. Time to try something else.
 
I parked near some trees and ended up having several spots on my hood and roof. They went right through the clearcoat, and there was nothing I could do but paint. That happened about 4 years ago. Since then, I traded in the car. Hope that isn't the case with you.
 
If sap were that acidic then I would be worried. I would guess that something else was wrong besides the sap. Unless you are talking about etching. That kind of damage can be repaired without painting. Clearcoat is just clear paint. If it will eat through the clear then it will keep going all the way to the sheet metal. Sap just isn't that acidic.
 
No, this isn't that bad. It's just surface stuff and it's fairly new, meaning, after I polished the car 1 1/2 weeks ago it wasn't there. I haven't done anything about it yet since we are in a nasty weather pattern here in New England and it's just 100% humidity and thunderstorms all day...yuck! Once this clears out I'll tackle it and see what works on it.
