Klasse on black...simply awesome!

The process of getting my car to look this great wasn't that difficult at all. Much of the difficulty that could have been involved was lessened due to the fact that I have a PC.

I started out with a thorough wash to remove any dirt and oil that was on my car. I used my regular wash soap which is Meguiar's Gold Class. This stuff works great and really glossed up the surface.

For a six year old car, the paint is in excellent condition with the exception of a few swirl marks and scratches that came from an automatic car wash I use during the winter months (I know, I know...so sorry. I do intend to change my plans this upcoming winter and exclusively wash it myself by hand). Because of these surface defects, I dediced to use a slightly aggressive polish so I could effectively remove them.

The polish I used was 3M's Finesse-It Machine Polish. I applied it with a Meguiar's Red Cutting Pad and gave about 2 passes on each panel with the machine on 4. To follow up and remove any compounding haze, I used 3M's Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Cars on a yellow Meguiar's Polishing Pad with the machine on 4 again.

Then it was time to apply Klasse AIO. I decided to apply it by machine figuring it would help me obtain the best results. It was actually my first time applying AIO by machine and I must say the results were amazing! The application was even and consistent and I had no problems removing it at all. It really cleaned the surface well and added a layer of solid protection which begged to be followed by SG.

Applying SG was also a breeze. I took a MF towel and ran it under water. I then squeezed it out until it was damp. I applied a nickel sized drop to the cloth and went over each section once, allowing it to dry. After about an hour of drying time, I went back over the car with another MF towel and buffed to a mirror finish.

The total work time was about 3 hours with a few breaks in between. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the results. I am so pleased that I was thinking of sending these pictures to CMA (where I purchased my twins) as a testimonial to all black car owners who are looking for that elusive look that I was able to obtain. Klasse is truly a top notch product that I will continue to use indefinately. I look forward to enjoying my black mirrored car over the next few months!

I never understood how you guys can remove swirls with a PC by only making 2 or 3 passes. I go over the area like a dozen times at a fairly quick rate. Am I using too much product? Do I need a more aggressive pad than an orange pad? Help!

Yeah probably the yellow LC pad, then maybe follow up with the orange. Don't be afraid to use the 6 setting routinely

I know when I say and probably most here say 2 passes it means working an area once then going back and working the area again.(multiple passes each time)

DetailGirl: I think that you summed up your problem in your post when you stated about a dozen times AT A FARILY QUICK RATE.

I always find that I have to almost crawl across the surface to get best results with the PC...and I use a good amonut of pressure as well...not enough to bog the machine but definetly a decent amount of pressure. With a rotary this would be death to the paint...with the PC it works very well...for me at least.

Did you top the SG with anything?

I am currently trying to make a decision on this one. I really like the look of the car right now, but at the same time I do have a can of Souveran lying around. Any suggestions?
