Klasse act on an Australian XR6

6cyl's_of_fury

its naturally curly......
While not the greatest detailing job in the world, I am pretty happy with it. While I would love a PC, but the cost of getting one to Australia is astronomical ( about +$200 for the PC and I wouldn't even guess how much for freight... ), so for now, a clean and the Klasse twins will have to do! This is only one layer of sg so far, I plan on adding 3 or 4.

This is what I had to begin with from the dealer...*shudder*

And then after my "Klasse act" - while not perfect ( unlike Scottwax) it is a definite improvement

And then just a few exterior shots...

Please note that I haven't dressed the tires - I am pulling the rims off tomorrow to paint the calipers so they will be sorted then...

whoa, that is a nice car. We dont get those here in the US. is the interior stock? are the headlight housings and rims stock?

Hey nice one ! Looks great ! Yes its nice to hear from another Aussie !

I did a Merc on Friday and did The Klasse twins and topped up with P21s Wax........................It was brilliant Its great to be able to get these products over here now !!!!

Dan

Nice work. Maybe Ford should import the Falcon to the USA, as GM did with Holden coupe.

They have trouble converting them to LHD, so I wouldn't hold my breath...but they are a great car ( dont mean to rub it in though... )

If only at a horribly high premium, but in the pursuit of perfection, its all good! I was thinking of going a topper after the 3 or 4 layers of SG are down. Might go Meg's #26 as I can get it locally....

It's an inline 4L 6 cylinder with 182kW - RWD.

It has a 4 speed auto with a clutchless manual option.

There is a 240kW intercooled turbo version ( running 6psi ), but work wouldn't spring for it unfortunately!

 car! Looks like a Contour on steriods!

From what I could see in your before and after pics, I doubt I could have done any better, looks great!

Yay another aussie !!!!

Love those falcons!!! You should top that with P21s mate.

If you want some send me a message. You are in Sydney yeah?

Myles

A compliment from Scottwax, I am truly not worthy - especially considering the mind boggling work that you produce on a regular basis! But I am truly flattered none the less.

Looks like I have some fellow aussie autopians on my case to top with PS21, so that will be the next set of photos when that is completed. Definitely an after xmas job that one!

that sounds like quite a bit of performance (~240HP) for a 6 cylinder. Is it an in-line or V c onfiguration?

You are making me out to be more than I am.

Again, you did an amazing job on your car. :up

Hey good job there 6 cyl. Another aussie to the forum. Nice to see another falcon owner even though yours is a BA and i have an AU.

Hi all,

Again, great to see some other Aussie's on the board.

You can get a PC (random orbital) from De Walt here in Australia. They are about $280 brand new.

I'm trying to get one direct from De Walt (here in Melbourne) that has been returned due to a minor defect. De Walt sell returned goods which have been repaired at a substantial discount with full waranty. I'm not sure if they are available in Sydney though.

BTW great job on the Falcon!

You do not need to use a PC in Australi. There are a couple of randon orbitla sanders that do the job nicley. Try:

Arlec KE125E (available from K mart for about $50)

Cheap to buy and decent build quality. The minimum speed is faster than the Hitachi. When detailing use the slowest speed setting. Good choice for those who only use the sander occasionally.

Hitachi FSV13Y 125mm (costs about $160)

The best built of the random orbital sanders. It is about the same size as the Arlec. Best speed control of the two. Best all round sander.

regards

Nice set of wheel Michael, but I prefer my old man's Monaro! :dance

As for the random orbital, on the advice of Myles :bow, I bought the Hitachi (no point scrimping I figured) and it will be getting a run this week with some Menzerna FP then Klasse it up, and finish with S100 - hopefully I dont have to go to the IP! Going on a car cruise this weekend so I hope it turns out like a mirror and we have no rain in the meantime to ruin my hard work! (well thats the plan....)
