Kit Carnauba Gold... still beading AFTER 6 WINTER MONTHS?

Well, not quite, but I'm pretty damned impressed... and I'm not easily impressed by car waxes.

Here's the scoop. I wrote this product up on October 30th, 2005. At the time I made a point to mention that this is a pure wax with no cleaners; none of my applicators or mf towels picked up any pigment at all. Here's the link to my review. I did ONE application of Kit Carnauba Gold.

After that I drove the car for a couple more weeks, then put it away for December, January, and February. I started driving it the first week of March, and except for a few snowfalls I've driven this car 5 days a week, 78 miles a day for the last two months. So, it's been 6 months since I've waxed it, and 3 of those have been heavy daily driver use. I've washed the car as needed, usually with Gold Class wash or Clearkote wash. I have not waxed this car since Oct 30th... I haven't had to. The surface is still slick as wet ice.

These pictures are low light, but I think that actually helps show the beading of this product. I think you'll all agree that this is pretty good for what is considered a low line consumer level product; there are quite a few highly regarded products that would not do this. Granted, these are not "day after" type beads. But I'd bet they are comparable to Zaino beads after similar time and use.

I used the "medium" pictures for the post. To see them in full size, with much better resolution and more information, go to my gallery and enlarge them.

Mosca- Gee, that *is* impressive. Might be another one of those sleeper products; guess there's another OTC wax worth recommending! I'd somehow missed that initial product review :o

Any idea if it stains black plastic/rubber trim?

If their Kit Carnauba Wash is any indication of the quality of the rest of their product line, I'm not suprised by your results. :)

Do you think that Formula 1 Carnauba Gold is the 'repackaged-for-abroad' version of Kit? Both are marketed by Northern Labs. We don't get Kit but we do get Formula 1. Its funny...when I read the initial revue I thought the packaging was so familiar, but not the name. The labels seem identical except for the name.

BTW, I'm not trying to start a conspiracy theory...just wondering if that's their marketing strategy which will enable us Down Under to try Kit under the Formula 1 name. :nixweiss

Alfisti I've never gottin into any "conspiracy theory" debats/threads but I must say they strike a strong similarity(sp?) in packaging (bottle/tins).

*To the poster that awesome Kit worked so well for you, but a last it's never done that well for me congrats.

Jacques Villeneuve, NTS7 and Sonax are the same. Three diff brands for different markets. If the parent company is the same, the packaging is the same...

They are the same thing, the packaging is the same, the sites are the same, it can't be any other way :)

BTW, what's the price tag on KIT products around there?

Here the Carnauba paste wax (not the Gold line though) is around 6$, which is pretty cheap.
