Has anyone had a chance to play with Kamikaze Zipang Coat? I`m curious how it performs. If they were for sale for a short period of time, I`d expect to see some reviews by now. Or maybe there was never any availability.

Now if I could just get my hands on some pro level self-healing coatings.. :D

Oh they were available. I was able to snatch one of them just before it sold out. I guess it was a small hand delivered batch by Kai @ Kamikaze to Esoteric.

I am looking to trade my car within the next month or so - so I think i will hold on until that happens. I also have Miyabi coat on hand and plan to do the Zipang/Miyabi sandwich that they recommend for best looks and performance.

So, sorry, you`ll have to wait as I am impatient as any to try this stuff out.

In the meantime, I`m looking to use my Gyeon Syncro and Pure to test out.

Kamikaze Collection Zipang - Self-Healing Ceramic Coat Product Test

From what I can gather, Kai could only carry < 20 units for initial release. Heck of a carry-on bag...

Is it just me or there were still some small scratches remaining after they dried the test area?

Using hot water had an immediate effect on the coating, with the swirls becoming visibly reduced on contact with and further fading occurred subsequently.

Seems to indicate not total removal but hard to discern

I saw the release notice on the Kamikaze Collection International posting and, despite some obvious Japanese/English translation and/or syntax issues, they mention `limited self-healing` and that it may not work on all paint types. Will be interesting to see how it plays out once more real world experiences come to light.

The Luxury Gold Class Coating make sense what working well your paint surface.
ZIPANG COAT has unique Semi-Self-Healing function that upgrade by ISM COAT PRO.

Because our poor English translation does not work, it is difficult to explain everything in detail.
However, while using high-quality hydrocarbon materials, we are adding self-healing additives at a level that does not interfere with "GLOSS" and "BEAUTIFUL LOOKS".
The level of this addition is very important, and addition of a large amount brings about clouding of the coating and deterioration of workability.
Of course, this product is a one part liquid complex construction and mixing process omitted.

However, we have a theory where we want to avoid Hype Marketing as much as possible.
Therefore, it is written as "Semi-Self Healing" as "Semi". Of course, it is not effective for all paint. It may not be applicable depending on the type of paint.
Besides, I`d appreciate it if you understand it as a by-product of Coating Layer.
In case
Of course, the very rich GLOSS of ISM PRO and very good protection performance are both upgraded.
Demonstrated durability in the Norwegian market Road Salts extreme cold area. There is also demonstration of durability at water spot and high temperature due to Thailand`s burning subtropical climate.
We added additives etc. to those performances.
Everything is Detailing for quality. The KAIZEN development style of KAMIKAZE will not stop.

I saw a youtube video awhile back explaining how xpel self healing works. I`m guessing Zipang works in a similar fashion but either has less of the chemicals that allows self healing or the coating layer itself is thinner and more susceptible to being permanently damaged.

it should be a great product as for all products from Kamikaze are great! please keep us posted on a review for Kamikaze Collection Zipang

Still a no-go for me but it seems a limited amount back in stock...

So when are you buying it ;)
Well, trying to hold out for Spring when my current Kami combo will likely have around 45k miles on it.

Unfortunately, will be getting a few new vehicles at work in late December...guessing I`ll crack at that point and do Miyabi base, Zipang top. That`ll be one heck of a fleet vehicle...but one I`ll be able to watch each day. Uh, in the interest of science?

Probably also do one in CQUARTZ UK 3.0. And I`m pondering trying FK1000p 9n one as well. Wouldn`t that be funny if FK was just as good as all these pricey little elixers?
