Just wondering...

I just ran a search through a research database; according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of October 2011 the "average wage" for the Car Wash industry was $10.39 per hour (the same as it was for 2010). In 2009 the average was $9.81 per hour.

The tunnel wash here starts people out at $7.50 - $8.00 depending on experience. Only reason I know that is because they always have ads in the paper wanting help.

Gary, here in the Bay area is around 7.50 a hr, plus tips. But some places it's even less than that.

Here in STL, guys make $4 an hour +tips working at the gas station washes that have the teens who "detail" your car while you wait. Then when I worked at the auto auction, we were paid per car, like 2 bucks a car.
