Hey guys just received the Edge adaptor for my PC and a white 6 inch DA pad. the two products I would like to confirm a pad uasage for are Menzerna 106FF and AIO/ Prime. from looking at the Edge chart and doing searches it seems that the white pad will not be the best choice. looking to replace a LC white polishing or Sonus Das green. will be using the pad for oxidation and light swirl removal. the chart suggests a Edge blue pad. does anybody have any first hand useage with similar products and the blue pad ? also wondered if the white pad can be used with a paint cleaner like AIO or maybe a light polish such as FPII or is it mainly used for glaze, LSP. thanks for any help that can be provided. :howdy

if your doing a finish polish then yes you can do that.. but it really has to be a finish polish.. other wise use the blue pad for a little more cut.. On my baja i did blue with 2.5 and then white with ssr1

Well that was my possible plan. was just wondering if the white pad would work for any mild polishing. guess I can try it with po85rd. thanks for the feedback. seems like a good set up and am interested in trying it out soon.

I'm tossing around the idea of switching to Edge pads as well. I like the quick change adapter and the fact that the pads are two sided.

One question though . . . do you guys ever use one product with a pad and then flip the pad over and use the other side with a different product? Just curious if you think the product would soak through and cross-contaminate the other one.

Good question but there is a plastic plate in the center of the which would not allow cross contamination. Also it would take an awful lot of chemical to saturate the foam enough to get through 2 inches of foam and out the other side, however a valid question indeed.

Hi Mike,

It would be almost impossible for a product to soak all the way through from one pad to the other since there is a flexible, plastic plate sandwiched between the two foam pads.

The only contact that occurs between the two foam pads is at the very edge because the inner plate does not extend all the way to the edge of the foam. I have never experienced a chemical traveling all the way through though. Also, The Edge uses "Durafoam" which is really good at not soaking up alot of product. It is a firmer, denser foam that helps keep the chemical where it belongs, between the foam and the paint.

WOW sounds like a nice set up!

Thanks guys for answering my question. I had thought cross-contamination would not be an issue, but I wasn't 100% sure. I can't wait for some of my pads to wear out now so that I can get the Edge 2K set. Also, anyone know if any of the DC vendors sell the 4" Edge 2K pads? I like to have both 6.5" and 4" pads so that I can use the smaller pads for tighter areas.

Yes indeed. looking to get more pads to be a little more versatile. will not be looking to remove any major defects, just some minor stuff and clean the paint with Prime. thanks again :howdy
