Hey detailing gurus,
I discovered my first nasty scratch on my Passat while I was washing it over the weekend. It's on the driver's side rear fender, and it's about an 2 inches long, 2mm wide and deep down to bare metal. It looks like someone opened their door, hit my car, and just kept pushing and scraping :angry .
I'm planning to at least touch it up with paint, but I was also wondering if I should try to wet sand it afterwards, and then buff it out. I'm a little scared to try this as I've never done it before. I'm afraid that I'll make the area look worse if I botch it up somehow. On the other hand, I've read the write up given in the info section on repairing scratches, and it looks fairly straightforward. Does anyone have any experience tackling this type of scratch? Can you help a brutha out with some info or guidance?
Thanks,
Tony
BTW: My car is Silverstone Grey Metallic.
