I am 55 years old and am starting a car wash/detainling business on the side out of my home. I worked in a Ford dealership when I was a kid and kind of enjoyed this type of work. Like all of you I get great satisfaction out of doing a good job and we are rewarded by happy customers. I live in an area in Northwest Minnesota where there is mostly farming. We have alot of dirt roads and to get all the dust out of a vehicle really can't be done. (It's everywhere) Most of the farmers own new 4-door trucks. I have been reading these threads and can't really decide what things I need. So many of you use differen't items. Any Ideas? Being that I'm learning should I by a kit?

I found out about Poorboys line of car care products here and for the money I've found them to be great. 4 star on leather is my choice, Stoners for glass cleaning is another. This list can go on forever.

I'd start with going to www.poorboysworld.com, get Steve's phone number from the web site, call him and follow every word of advice he offers. He's owned detailing and body shops, now makes his own line of products and he's a straight arrow guy....no BS, no sales pitch. He'll sell you what you need and no more. Trustworthy. Integrity.
 
Thanks for the feedback. Another question...Do you always polish a car/vehicle and then "wax" it? I read where polish will wash off and wax will last around 90 days.

No not always, only if you want to remove the wax and start over, or to remove imperfections. If you are happy with the paint condition, just add another layer of wax.
