Just got it and tried it out for first time with Megs #83 DACP and megs yellow polishing pad.

Got a few questions.

For some reason when using #83 and #80 at speed 5-6 I can't seem to see any chemical after after just few seconds but when I turn the speed down I can easily see the chemical and when it's breaking down.

Is this normal cos on other RO I easily could tell with both chemicals at what stage I was at and when it had broken down but highest speed on porter cable just looks as if it has broken down almost instantly.

Another question is it normal when using the porter cable on 5-6 for few minutes on small area for panel to get very warm.

Well I think that could be the result of a couple of things... When the pads are new (and even when they are clean) they can soak up a lot of the product making it seem like its getting used up more quickly. Some people spray the pad with a quick detailer before applying the product. Also at higher speeds of course the product will break down and disappear quicker. That is due to not only the PC moving faster but also possibly to the higher level of heat generated from the friction. Also I dont think your panel areas should be getting very warm. You are either not moving it enough, or the speed is too high or both. Slow it down some (probably 3-4) and work in a bigger area (maybe 12" x 12").

I have just gotten my FLEX Porter Cable and was using it for 5 minutes before the machine gave problems. I was also using DACP with Megs Yellow Pad and have the same comments. What I did was to continue buffing at Speed 5 until the haze disappeared, and it looked very slick and nice. After 6 hours, the feel was totally different. The looks was still great, but the super slick oily/waxy feel was gone. Don't know why. ONly had chance to apply DACP before the machine went bust!
