what backing plate sizes everyone uses with there different pads. I have a 6 inch DA Plate, 5 inch DA Plate and a 4 3/4 Rotary plate. I use 6.5 in pads right now until I get some 4 inch pads and a plate.



Also, is it just me or are these plates smaller than what they say they are?

Maybe it's like with lumber, where a 2 by 4 is not.



I'm a newbie and just have a 5" backing plate & mostly 6.5" pads to start, though the orange ones are 5.5". ( You may recognize the selection from the autogeek pad kit.)
