just a little alcantara love... nothing crazy

So I figured i'd share what my interior looks like in the wrx... a work in progress (isn't it always?).x

Every item that is double stitched (arm rest, steering wheel, e-brake and cluster) where bought by JPM and installed by me. The rest (upper door, tweeter, center console) was wrapped by me. The goal would be to do the dash so as to create an plusher experience on the entire upper level of the cabin. I want to keep the matt middle trim intact as I think it's a nice contrast. I would also keep the lower (think under the middle/vent trim) plastic. xBut I keep hesitating about potentially compromising the safety features of the dash (i.e. airbag deployment) by wrapping it... JPMcoachworks minimizes it by compromising (small tears) the underside of the panel they use to wrap the dash in order to 'weaken it' so to speak. Good idea but I'm not sure I can replicate this and there has not been any testing done to see if the airbag would deploy any easier (or at all) with or without the tears... and they charge quite a bit more $$, so for now that how she sits...

I appreciate the plushness that alcantara brings to the cabin. Easy to care, anti-glare, and so soft to the touch. Minimal care needed on all trims but the steering wheel, which, with my hands, need some tlc more regularly (to be expected).x
