2002 John Deere @ 300 hours on the clock.

It was time to change the oil, plugs, air & gas filters, lube the suspension & deck, etc…. so I decided to go all out and detail the mower.

Yes, I’m pathetic.

Process Used:

Compressed air to blow off the yard gunk.

Wash: Simple Green 4:1 & Euro Mitt.

The deck was removed & soaked in Engine Cleaner for 30 minutes (top and bottom), then hit the Simple Green Wash Solution and a few trashed brushes that I have around.

The Engine area was steamed, then cleaned with APC 2:1 & brushes.

Compressed air was used to dry.

Polish: Z-PC by hand using MF towels folded in 4ths.

Protect: ZAIO by hand using a cotton Zaino applicator

Plastic, trim, tires, wheels, paint, engine, etc.. (everything) protected with Z-CS.

Z6 wipe down for the finals.

Here are the afters:

WOW.....great looking. I used to work on a farm in Penna as a kid...they had a John Deere "B"...hand start that would break your wrist if you weren't careful. Then they upped it to a JD 60.

Nice ride Sir!

LOL -I can relate.

Thanks for the compliment.

I just posted this up for fun.

I think I cut my hands at least 10 times today detailing around the engine area.

Seriously that looks like you just brought it home! The black trim came out really nice, it's always great to see someone who cares for their things. I bet if you keep treating it like that it'll become an expensive antique one day:xyxthumbs

Thats great! I detailed the same one for my neighbor for letting me borrow it. I think I spent longer cleaning and polishing it then I did useing it:nixweiss

Nice job on the JD. I've got an older model and have been thinking of detailing mine as well. I also have the plastic hood, although mine doesnt look anywhere near as nice as yours does.

What did you use on the hood to polish it, did it need it? I need to get something agressive on the hood and i'm afraid of it, yes i'm a noob. I've got a lot of spiderwebbing and a few scratches i'd like to minimize.

Any suggestions,

Thanks and again, nice job!!!!
