Jet Black 7 series detail tomorrow

Tomorrow we have a Jet Black BMW 7 series to do.

The car is in pretty rough shape, lots of scratches and swirl marks. It's a 1998 or so and I dont think it has ever been buffed. (Sorry no pictures).

It's goint to need a compound.

I really want to avoid any holograms on the car.

Which pad/buffer combo would you suggest;

Pad/Product

OC/Green Light cut pad (Rotary)

OC/Blue Polish (Rotary)

OC/Yellow (PC)- hate using a heavy cut pad

OC/Green Light cut (PC)

I will probably follow up with OP OP+RMG and top with 845\

I just received an orange pad in my new edge 2000 kit. Anyone use this pad? Seems like memory foam... I should probably read up on it.

Thanks,

Jordan

with a bmw, oc & yellow pad. The holograms shouldn't be too bad. The pc with oc will remove it. The clear on those cars are pretty hard. Good luck!

So if i go with the yellow cutting pad and Optimum compound, should i follow up with,

OP/ soft polishing pad (white)

or

OP/ light polish pad (blue)

I like doing several polishing steps, so I'd say do both for getting that paint look extra special. At least do op/white pad.

Jordan,

There is a local parts store that carries the Distinctive Detail line. So far i've got a bottle of Carnuba Creme and the Excalibur. The Excalibur is really good. I've got buddies that have bought several bottles of the Excalibur. I'm looking to try some other products in the DD line. I've had good success so far. I'll try to get you a pic and send it to you. Nice products Jordan

Thanks ,

Heath Day
