Jeep Day

Finally went out and did a full detail I had done the interior a couple weeks before but never managed to get the exterior as the weather wasnt really to tayste.

Paint:

I used Menzerna FPII with a White edge with Makita Rotary then for the rear I used SSR2.5 with Green Edge Followed by Blue Edge. Afterwards I topped with AIO and 2x UPP. I was impressed with SSR2.5 it was so easy to use and I didnt have to go over with FP or SSR1 left the finish perfect.

Interior:
APC+ 12:1 on carpets then extracted with hot water. Seats where cleaned with APC 12:1 and dressed with Meguiars Detailer Leather Cleaner and Conditioner.

Exterior:
I cleaned the undercarriage this time I used APC+ 2:1 and EOA2Z on some ruff parts like the rear gas tank springs axle's and shocks. Then dressed with believe it or not WD-40 cause there was some rust forming.

Finally Here are the pictures... More will follow tommorow when I get the car outside.

My wife has a Cherokee Sport, I hate all the sharp creases & tight areas...those Grand Cherokees are much nicer to detail on the outside (although I hear that they have less room inside)

There not the biggest on the interior space and the exterior is pain to detail on the lower panels with the waves have to be really carefull with the rotary to not burn those area's. But other then that great, good off-road performance plenty of power from the 4.7 couldnt complain.

wow very nice frozen. im just wondering, where did you get that cabinet at? it looks great, and i need one of them

Nice detail. I'd would under coat with 3M next time. It leaves a black painted surface with protection from salt and sand

Why does everyones supply cabinets looks so good mines a mess but I know where everything is at! All the bottles and jugs are lined up looks like a store front

Great job !!!

That Jeep looks awesome !!! Great job !!!

The interior looks flawless right down to the jambs !

Fr0zen,

I'm always impressed by your carpet work! It is a finished look that I continue to strive for.

Please referesh my memory...You say you extracted with hot water. What system do you use?

Thanks for all the great comments, I spent some more time then last time I detailed the Jeep. I got the cabinent at the home depot it was fairly expensive and heavy but well worth it looks really neat and clean in the garage. The carpet I used APC 12:1, the carpet wasnt very soiled neither where the mats as I always take great care and use rubber mats during the winter. I extracted with believe it or not a rainbow vacumm with extraction attachment it has plenty of power and lift and rinses with hot water hooked up to the sink. Its not the best extractor but works very well for the smaller area's I just use the hose with no attachment because the wand is fairly big. The extraction lines I touched up with a brush to get them perfect.

Hehe I feel bad touching the carpet.. I want the lines to stay forever.

AtlantaBoy what 3m product are you reffering to I would love to try it out. I was amazed with how much junk I washed up from the undercarriage and the gas tank.

UPP is my favorite im going to try to add two more coats and a couple coats to the jambs.

Question for dean what kind of brush do you use for door jambs and other area's with caked up wax and other stuff. I find useing a tooth brush is to hard and will marry the paint up alot.

Door Jambs...

This may sound crazy, but I have used this technique without a problem for the longest.

*Spray full strength Simple Green inside of the jambs.

*Let dwell for a few minutes.

* Wash inside the jambs with wash and older washmit.

*Pressure wash carefully.

This should clean up about 80-90% of the grease and grime.

I then dry and wipe off excess grease and apply a spay wax to the jambs painted areas and dress the rubber area with Trim Shine.

Thats similar to my method I sprayed the jambs with APC+ 4:1 let it foam up really good let it dwell rinsed its hard to rinse though because I didnt want to get the interior wet. Then I went back and used a older wash mit with 4* carwash soap and washed the jambs then dried and applied AIO in the placed I could reach. Then applied 303 to the hoses inside the jambs with a paper towel.
