Hi, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Estelle I own a small detailing business, JASE Auto Detailing in Ellington, CT. I've been in business for 3 years, but have about 10 years experience in detailing.

I've gotten bored on these cold winter days, and decided to join Detail City Forum.

Hello from across the river in the Great Peoples Republic of West Hartford.

You should like it here at DC. Lots of good people, lots of good information, and lots of good vendors.

As far as bored onthe cold winter days, I agree.

Thank you guys...I look forward to being a part of the "bright city". You know I love to detail, but hate it at the same time. But the results baby....nothin is better than runnin the back of your hand down a freshly buffed and wax finish...oooh. I can't wait until spring:)

Does anyone know where to find a good powerwasher repair shop in CT. I busted my two year old powerwasher last fall, brought it to a repairs shop, $75 later, all new seals, and the thing still isn't running right, they told me to bring it back to them, but I don't trust them. I have no idea what is wrong with it, but the pressure sucks, and it shuts off if you don't keep you hand on the trigger...hmmm

WELCOME, All waiting for this wacky weather to break so we can get back to business :dnaughty:dnaughty Car detailing that is.

Hello from just down the street in Tolland.

I use Hirth Small Engine Repair in Ellington when I need something worked on, good prices and honest service. It's a small shop in a residential neighborhood but tough to miss if you've ever been to Stafford Speedway via 140.

Same name I got today too.

Sounds like an unloader issue to me. I'm not a goto for pump repair or a wealth of small engine equipment info, but usually when a pressure washer turns off due to not relieving the pressure it's caused by the unloader/bypass system.

Depending on the pump design this could be an external or internal component, also depending on the pump manufacturer this could be a repair (Cat, General, other triplex style) or replace (Sears, Toro, or other axiel style) issue.

A person shouldn't be afraid to dissect a triplex pump, it's really a simple and efficient design that's relatively easy to diagnose just with a visual inspection. Here are some pictures from when I repaired a low flow/low pressure issue due to broken spring retainers:

If I recall correctly it cost me $30 or so in parts and less than an hours time to do the work myself.

Thankyou all for the great info...i will check that place out...we did take the thing apart when it happened, then i dropped it off at a repair shop, they said i blew all the seals. They replaced them and it has weak pressure and it won't stay running unless you hold the trigger open....spring is comin quick so i need to take care of this. You all have been so helpful thank you!!!:bigups
