Jags on the prowl

It's taken me a while to post these photos. The last weekend of May, for the first time, we took both of the 1975 Jaguar XJ6 coupes to a show, held on High Street (the main downtown street) of our little town. This was the first time we had shown the "twin Jags" side-by-side.

It was a local show, on a lovely day, and we got lots of good looks. Lots of people came out for the show.

We managed to take 3rd-place out of a field of almost 100. Ours were the only non-U.S. cars in the entire show. Mostly, there were early American cars (Model A, etc.), with tons of "muscle cars" (Corvettes, Camaro, etc.). Against that competition, I was pretty gratified that the white Jag got the 3rd-place trophy.

Ahh, what a great photo for the scrap book and trophy for the mantle. It's a memory you can hang onto long after the cat is gone.;)

Aw shucks, folks, thanks for the kind words. And since you've taken the time and trouble to reply, I'll let you be the first to know: we're selling the Jags. The white coupe sold last week, to a Jag-nut in Massachusetts. The buyer will have a shipper pick it up soon (probably by the end of this week.) The red one is now in its last 24 hours on ebay. It's taken me a long time to reach this decision. Dang! These two cars still take my breath away. But they've become too consuming for me, and I need to get back to something like a normal life. So these are probably the last pix you'll see of these two beauties. :(

Parting with them must be hard. They will never get as good care as they had.

I'm anxious to see what you replace them with. It's got to be good!!

Thanks for the kind words, Bunker. "Hard" doesn't begin to describe it. I'll probably leave nail-marks on the back of the trailer when they haul the white Jag away this week. :(

BTW, last pix of the red Jag are here -- not that I want any Autopians to bid. But they are rather nice photos of a classic hot-red Jag.

Congratulations Lynn, Although you will miss those gorgeous machines.....Others will take their place and your time will be "consumed" again. I have to sell my Camaro very soon to settle my Divorce costs and I'm losing sleep over it....the soon to be ex has always said I love that car more than her. It's not often that she's been right about something. Have you found the right BMW yet?

Lynn congratulations on the win!

Sad to hear the Jags are going, but I know the feeling. It's hard to let the cars go but eventually you will have to move on do something new and different or just spend time doing something else.

BTW I to am selling the 500E, still waiting for someone who will hopefully continue to care for it like I did and perhaps even show it.

Good luck with your future car endeavors.:)

Sorry, guys. I can't reply to your kind remarks about the Jag right now. I have to go cry my eyes out. (GAWD, what will I do without these cars????) But thank you for the comments.
