It's getting cold! When to pack it in?

When should I pack up all of my detailing supplies from the garage and move them to the basement? I would like to get a few more weeks in the garage but it is starting to hit the 40's overnight. Opinions?

where are you alaska. Its the temp in the garage if its 40 outside inside garage cant be getting under the mid to high 50's Heck mine doesn't get to mid 40's till its under 20 outside all night.

Sorry...yeah Im in central New York State. I'm concerned about my chemicals, waxes and coatings. Not sure if any of them are super sensitive to the temp fluctuations we have here. It can get pretty cold, in the 30's at night and shoot up to mid 70's or so in the day. Just want to be mindful! When do you all start bringing stuff in?

you could ship them south for safe keeping :)

j/k

I used to bring the stuff in around Halloween. As was said above, the garage will probably stay a little warmer unless you keep door open alot

I keep everything outside in the shaded shed untill the night time temps dip below 60 on a daily basis. Towels, brushes buckets stay out all year long. The only things I keep inside year round are LSP's, glazes and polishes.

One must unpack before they can pack

If it was only up to the cleaning of my own vehicles this year (business aside) I could've made due with just using products under my kitchen sink

I haven't even applied a spray wax to my vehicles since mid 2013

:swirly:

My suggestion would be to keep the waxes, LSP's, polishes, etc in the house year round. You get humidity in NY which isn't any better than freezing temps for these products. Even during a detail, in the hot humid summer, I keep my products inside until it's time to use them. Then right back inside when done and grab the products for the next step. I am probably being overly anal, but it's piece of mind for me anyways. The only thing I keep in the garage from spring to fall is my gallon of DG902.
