I was told my numerous people that waxing your car too much is bad for the paint and clearcoat. I just wanted to see what you guys say about this. And if so what should i do because i like my car to look perfect at all times.

There are no stupid questions......just stupid answers.

I'll have to say no here, I'm sure others here will agree :)

What should you do ? read, read & read. The "Learn" section up top is a great start. Try to post your basic questions in the University forum.

No, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask questions...remember that line from "Bristol University" on ESPN?? Anyway, waxing too much will probably not damage your paint, though you may experience some chalkiness after applying it every day for a month.

Definitely click on the "Learn" link, you'll find tons of info and answers.

It's better to ask a stupid question, than to make a stupid mistake!

Waxing your car with products that don't have any abrasives will not harm your clear coat at all. They will just build on top of each other, until an abrasive product is used ( from as mild as rain, dirt, cheap car wash, dish soap, to polishes and cleaners with intentional abrasives added ) to remove them.

Cheers!

Like SK2003TypeS said, this kind of basic question should be posted in the Autopia University forum, which is why I've moved it here.

Read ... learn ...and you'll be able to avoid asking the "old-wives-tales" questions that have been asked and answered so often. :up

When people spout stuff like that, maybe you ought to ask them to explain how it is bad? I really can't see how waxing a car a lot is better than not ever waxing it. I also have never seen an awesome-looking neglected car, just neglected-looking neglected cars... If nothing else, waxing protects from more damage than it causes.
