It feels good to be back

After a year of treatments and fighting my neurological disease I am finally
well enough to get back behind a da and cut some paint. Fun part everyone gets to pick how
I am are going to spend my Christmas money, I need a few things.

APC: OPC it`s been my go to for years but I`m interested in Car Pro Multi X.

Paint work cleanser/Finishing polish: Thinking Poorboy`s World Pro Polish or a Finishing Polish. I can use a paint cleanser with abrasive
but will it finish out as well as Opti Hyper Polish, HD Polish, Griot`s perfecting Cream or Car Pro Reflect. My question Will a finishing Polish cut enough to get the grime out of the clear coat.
This will be picking up after last year, heavier RIDS are gone. Griot`s Correcting Cream took care of that chore. Loved that stuff. Easiest polish I ever used. It will just need a clean up and light polish.

Wheel coating: Opti Gloss Coat. Its been 9 months and it`s just keeping the dirt from binding. I definitely need the 1 year mark and enough to do barrel and face. Gloss Coat was really easy to install but they stopped looking fantastic and that was hitting it with Gyeon Cure every other month.

Thanks Everyone

Glad to hear you are feeling well enough to do some work again. And hope you get as good as possible.

I`m a strong believer in that different kind of dirt and contaminants need different kind of chemicals to desolve them. And to get the paint as clean as possible before touching it a thorough decon wash is a benefit to the later physically decon steps with clay and polishing.

When doing a decon before I polish. I start with a strong prewash foam. The GG Foaming Prep Wash and McKees 37 Coating Prep Wash and Poorboy`s Strip Down Wax Stripper seems to be great products that is more aggressive to clean. I use products not available in the US unfortuneally. Then I follow up with a tar remover and then an iron remover. This with not touching the car. Then I wash with a car soap that don`t leave anything behind. And after that I control if further chemical decon is needed. Otherwise I go to clay and take that little that is left of contaminants. When I start to polish the pad is very much cleaner than if I just iron removal clay and polish. So feel confident that if only 1 step it I clean the paint enough with the polish I go with.

For 1 steps on medium defects I like Scholl S20 Black SS or Menzerna HC400 or Menzerna PF2200. Light defects Sonax EX04-06 or Sonax Perfect Finish or Carpro Reflect. Versitale polishes on different hardness of the clearcoats. Tac System polishes has cought my interest as they try out different way to make the abrasive technology with different shape of the abrasives. Have only test out Tac System Refinish Ultra that has some crazy cut and still finish very good. Now they have released Refinish Ultra Plus which has another new abrasive shape that claims to cut and finish even better. The other ones is Refinish 1, 2, 3.

3D One is a one step compound and polish that you get different cut and finish from the pad choice. Meguiars new 105/205 combo with less dusting is 110/210 if you liked the old combo. AIO is also now with SiO2 in some brands Angelwax Enigma AIO and Britemax Virtue SiO2 High Gloss Primer Polish. The difference to Carpro Essence is they work as a stand alone protection with great hydrophobic caractics.
