2007 Lexus IS350. The new owner contacted me a few weeks back, said he was flying into the Dallas area to pick up a Lexus IS350 he was going to buy. He said it looked decent enough in the pictures but he wanted it clayed, polished and sealed and whatever I felt the interior needed. Overall it was in good shape, some minor buffer holograms on the passenger side rear pillar and moderate spider swirls on the trunk lid. Interior needed a lot of vacuuming but other than deep cleaning and conditioning the seats it was better than expected for a 6 year old car.

Meguiars M100 using an Optimum microfiber cutting pad and my Rupes 21 DA (spot polished out the buffer trails and spider swirls in the trunk)

Optimum Hyper Polish and an Optimum microfiber cutting pad and Rupes on the whole car

Optimum Opti-Seal

3D Trim Protectant on the black plastic at the base of the windshield (it was REALLY faded!)

Just a few quick pics here of a BMW 328 I detailed 2 years ago (September 2011) that the owner has been washing since with ONR.

I took these pictures BEFORE doing any polishing (just did G-P-S, he was having it gone over for the person coming in that weekend to pick it up), nothing after since it was just a quick for sale detail. But it was swirl free, looked the whole car over and the paint looked great! The owner was able to keep it swirl free a full two years!

2012 Chevy Corvette. Repeat customer, believe this is the 2nd time I've done the C6, he had a Camaro I was detailing before the 'Vette. He travels a lot, so twice a year is more than enough to have it detailed. Plus he takes really good care of it in between details, obviously washed and vacuumed very recently.

2013 Nissan Altima. I detailed it when the owner first got it, then he moved to Michigan. Since then, Dave Fermani has been taking care of it. However, according to the owner, he was having some work done in the garage so the Altima sat outside a couple months and he didn't have Dave touch it the last two times he was out. Then he drove it out here to the Dallas area. Figured while he was in town, he'd have it cleaned up. Two months of not washing and road trip dirt, it was pretty messy outside. Picked up some light water spots as well. Under the grime, the paint was in really good shape, as expected since Dave had been the one taking care of the car up north.

2012 Infiniti M37x. Owner e-mailed me about the car, said the words every real detailer dreads "I need it detailed to fix what another detailer did to it". :lol

Other detailers = job security! The paint was pretty trashed. Buffer trails, spider swirls, some straight line scratches, etc. I did a couple test sections and the owner felt that two steps was giving him what he was expecting, removing all the buffer trails and removing all but the very deepest of the spider swirls and scratches. Its a daily driver and parked outside at work, not a garage queen. It didn't end up perfect, of course, but it is a massive improvement and that's what the customer was looking for.

Up next week, his co-worker's BMW 535, which is similarly swirled and expected when he said they bought them at the same dealership.

Great job Scott, as always.

When you are working in the sun, what do you do to keep your MF pads cool and clean without compressed air? I've found a nylon brush works well but I've always wondered since you do as much direct sun work as anyone.

Thanks!

I also spin them over a wet (but not soaking) MF towel and change out pads as needed.

I've tried a Flex once, really didn't like how it pulled me all over the place. My Dewalt rotary is easier to control.

Nice work as always guys. I see were back to the dark/metallic cars again. Nothing better in this heat! Just came back from El Paso, 6 cars, 75* and flooding rain everyday!
