Is Zymol HD Cleanse a filler/glaze?

I was planning on using Zymol Vintage or Atlantique wax on Menzerna FPII prepped surface. Zymol recommends using Zymol HD Cleanse which I am am not very fond. If HD Cleanse is primarily a filler then maybe I can substitute Menzerna Glaze applied with PC. I like the look of glazes on my car color (Porsche guards red). However, Zymol tech support cautioned that their wax must not be topped on any surfaces treated with silicone or petroleum distillates. I know Menzerna products do not contain silicones, how about petroleum distillates? I am sorry of this looks like I reposted (I did not realize my previous threads wre going up due to lack of posts).

I hate HD-cleanse so bad, that I've been considering using Menzerna's Final touch Glaze instead, as well. I hven't done it yet, so I can't tell you for sure if it would work. It might cut down on the wax's ability to adhere to the paint.

HD-Cleanse is a typical glaze: it uses china clay as a filler, and natural oils as a polish. Pretty much what most glazes do.

You can definitely substitute HD Cleanse with a good paint cleaner. HD Cleanse does have its virtues, but (even with Zymol, in which I consider the majority of their product line to be excellent in quality) I caution against believing anything that "must" be used "or else" without experimenting. I've used zymol's estate glazes with other polishes with success.

I would find the equivalent paint cleaning product from Menzerna or any other good brand, making sure that the paint is clean and free from any residual polish haze. Once you've accomplished that, then you'll be free to explore the vast reflective range from an EGZymol wax. Good luck.

It's very good to experiment. I like the whole Zymol "proprietary" concept, but I have to admit . . . when I do cars for friends, who I know will NOT take care of the finish, I just skip the HD Cleanse go straight to KAIO and then top it with Vintage or another estate glaze.

Thanks guys. I did a LIVE CHAT with CMA who know the Menzerna brand very well. They wrote that neither Menzerna FPII nor glaze contains silicones and no more than 3 percent petroleum distillates. I am sure that Zymol will top of FPII without problem. However, I am now sure about topping Menzerna glaze. Merzerna glaze does have an oily smell but washes out of pads easily with just water and little soap. As any good Autopian must do, I will experiment and see.

I dont think that would be an issue either.

Great, thanks! I don't know much about Menzerna but I'm doing my research and it looks like good stuff. Thanks for the input Josh!

Menzerna's scratch resistant polishes always seem to leave behind some kind of oils on my paint. I always follow up either SIP or 106ff (nano) with an alcohol wipe down. Applying Final Touch Glaze (or whatever AG is calling their version of it) seems to go best when the paint is completely free of oils and polishing residue.

For what it's worth, isn't HD-Cleanse a prewax cleaner? If so, it's superfluous if applied to a Menzerna FPII prepped surface.

Yes, but it is also a glaze like RMG or Final Touch Glaze. It will make your Menz FPII prepped surface look even better, just like RMG or FTG would after your final polishing step.
