So, I am running low on tire dressing and I typically use Vinylex. I have noticed that my tires are usually brown after the Vinylex wears off, so I started searching the forum and looked up Vinylex's website. I prefer to get tire dressings OTC since I go through it much faster than other products that I typically mail order (like polish, sealant, etc.).
Since Vinylex is milky white, I guess I assumed it was water based since I thought silicone based products were usually clear, waer based were milky white. But I found this on Vinylex's website:
"VINYLEX contains a unique patented composition of silicone and organo-functional silicone specifically designed to provide the desired performance and appearance along with special emulsifiers that cause the formula to break on application. This release (break) on application contributes to the performance of the composition and facilitates the proper distribution of VINYLEX ingredients."
Based on this, it appears as though Vinylex is silicone based and therefore not real good for tires and blooming. So I was thinking of switching to 303, although it is probably harder to find locally (but hopefully not impossible). Tried PB BnB, wasn't too fond of it, plus it is mail order (don't kow of any local retailers).
So, should I find something else other than Vinylex (which appears to be silicone based)?
Thanks,
Neil
