Is this Tire Browning?

I just bought these Cooper tires for my Explorer last spring and I have noticed that the outside of the tire is darker then the inside half of the tire. The outside is black like a normal tire and the inside half is like a light gray color! Is this tire browning or just junk tires? I hate the way it looks and no matter how I clean or dress it, it stays the same. Has anyone experienced this and does it go away? I normally use either Eagle tire & wheel cleaner or an APC to clean and Armor-All Original water based dressing to dress the tires. Below is a pic of one of the tires and this is with it dressed and you can still clearly see the color difference. thanks for the help

Browning is just that...browning. That can be fixed with a good tire cleaner and a brush.



However, that doesn't look like browning to me. Looks to me like it is just the way the tire is, nothing you can do to change that.
 
Thank. the outside of the tire is alittle on the browner side after cleaning with no dressing on it, but then looks like the pic after dressing. Was hoping someone experienced this too and it eventually goes away.
 
anyone else had this happen to their tires. i am really hoping it is temporary because I hate the way it looks. If not, I will never by cooper again. thanks

No it was not always like this, It seem like the last few months is when I noticed it, but they were not like this new. thanks
 
My Bridgestone Duler Revo's that I have on my 4-Runner do that too if I dont keep them clean. I really dont think its anything to be worried about.
 
Very odd. You may want to have your dealer check them out, hate to have something be wrong with the rubber. I have coopers and never had a problem like that.

I've seen that before my BFG A/T's did the same thing. Not sure what causes it, maybe a special layer they put down where the tires lettering goes? Just cake on the tire dressing and it will become less noticeable but I don't know if you'll ever get rid of it 100%
 
It looks like a thin layer of rubber over the white sidewall. White letter tires have a layer of white rubber on the sidewalls just like whitewalls. On letter tires there is another layer of black over this white and the letters are sanded to expose the white.

It looks like your tires got a thin layer of the black and the whitewall section is bleeding through. Check with your dealer as this should not happen unless that tire skipped a step during construction.
 
I had that issue on some Goodyear Eagle GTIIs. I think mine eventually wore down to not look so obvious, but you'll be able to notice the transition line for a while.
 
I was at a detailing shop and was told that this same condition can occur from using NON waterbased tire dressings.

Not sure if this applies to your situation, but........?
