Is this paint burn?

I was recently in an accident and had to get a new rear bumper. After doing a wash I noticed 2 cloudy spots on the bumper. Is this paint burn from polishing/waxing?

I don't understand how any detailer can stand taking their car to a body shop. These are the smaller issues I've found. Ugh.

EDIT: hmm how come I can't upload pics?

I could be a paint burn but i highly doubt that a body shop would be that negligent.

To upload pictures, the majority of people here use a photobucket type image hosting site. Pictures that you upload to the autopia usually have to be pretty small so that is why most of us use photo-bucket, its easier and free. Once we have a picture, it will be much easier to diagnose the problem.

Ok here are the pics. What do you guys think? The areas of concern are in the middle of the picture.

That first pic is kinda hard to say, maybe missed that spot when compounding. The 2nd pic definitely looks like sloppy compounding!

Ah sounds like it's the "compounding". I'm not sure what that is, but I'm sure I can search on here and find out. I just wanted to be informed before I take it back to the shop on Monday when they're open. Thanks!

I thought you had to wait 4-6 weeks before applying wax and stuff to a freshly painted surface by the way.

yes I like to wait 3 months(or more for wax/sealant

but you can coumpound/polish fresh paint

Compounding is just a different way of saying "strong polishing"

So basically there isn't any seal/wax on the new body panels at the moment? They basically return the car to you after wet sanding/polishing?

Oh and also ... to fix this could I just polish those areas a bit more? I'm new to detailing and have a brand new flex 3401 sitting at home with a bunch of CCS pads and Menzerna.
