Is this bad?

I just talked to the collision center were my Altima is and they told me it would be a month till my car is finished being repaired. Currently I'm driving a Enterprise rental. Its a 2005 Sentra, Bronze. The interior is a mess and the exterior isn't much better. Is it bad that I really want to detail this thing. I think I could make the bronze finish GLOW! Am I out of my mind?
 
Nope. When my truck was wrecked last year I was loaned a Toyota Camry. The thing was in need of a good cleaning, so since I had to spend two weeks driving the thing I decided to detail it. I had some products at the time that I hadn't had a chance to try so that was my test vehicle. I think for people who enjoy detailing its not crazy at all, just feeding the habit.

I had a rental car not long back for about a week....I used it as a experimental car....I used all kinds of different stuff on it....LOL

It was white so I had some thing that I wanted to try out....I turned the car back in pretty darn clean on the outside
 
I dont think it's bad. Just feel the need to be in a clean car. I wouldnt go crazy on it, but if your jonesing for a fix then knock yourself out. :) if you need to experiment with new stuff , now is the time to do it.

"OCD needs to be encouraged." At least according to Jngrbrdman. I believe that this is an accurate statement.
 
I love it when I have a rental car - they make the BEST test beds!! :)
Go for it!! And post up pics when you're done ;)
 
Now wait a sec . . . the only person who said you weren't crazy, was Kirk - and he goes through S & W by the 5 gallon vat & has to have it airlifted into Alaska!!! :stick
 
you have to drive that thing for a month, Make it feel like you own. I know if I had a car for a month I would want it to be spotless. Plus it would be fun to do a detail on it. I say make that mother shine
 
didnt you hear he had accident. some jackass hit his car. I think theres another thread with pics and everythig lol. Its 2 bad those altimas are such nice cars.. i wish i had one (lol)
 
Nope your not crazy last year when i had my truck painted it was in the body shop for like 2 months or more and it drove me insane seeing it disassembled and in the mess that it was. Here's a few pictures of it when it was a mess.

How do you send Pics from a phone to your email. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to phones. My wife has a motorola with the pics of my car on it.
 
As others said I wouldn't go crazy, but I'd clean it up a bit, i.e take care of the major interior blemishes, clean all the vents/nooks and crannies. The biggest thing that bugs me is when the floor looks like a garbage can and along with that needs a good vaccuuming. As long as there's no really horrific stains/blemishes a simple wipe down and vaccuum works for me in my cars :)

I've never has one that was dirty to start with, but I sure have brought them back in bad shape. I came flying into our yard in a rental car, and we have just had a good rain and I went off into the ditch. The car was ok, but was stuck in a foot of water and mud. Instead of getting a backhoe or something I got my company truck and one of the shop hands to give me a hand. I left my truck in 2WD and flung mud all over it pulling it out. Never did wash it, but we did have some more rain before I took it back.:D
