Is this a rotary or random orbital?

It is a rotary, but I would be carefull due to the fact that it's slowest speed is 1500 rpm.

thanks for the replies.
I've been led to believe that they are random orbital. Maybe the employee of the hardware store I went to wasn't listening to my request to see random orbitals they have.
I have yellow cutting pads and used it to apply SSR2 on my car (only about 1 year old). I noticed some buffer marks after I was finished, so I gave a quick polish with PB Professional Polish and they were gone after that.
Is the combination of yellow cutting pad, SSR2 and rotary too aggressive for a near new car? I'm just trying to get my car to look perfect without any swirls or scratches.

You should think about a polishing pad with the rotary and SSR2 for a newer car depending on the condition of it.

WOW thats one hell of a machine there. 1500 up to 6500 rpm ? Think of the heat you could generate. Think of the shine you could get. :LOLOL I bet if you had that thing at 6500 you would instantly burn the paint.

LOL exactly. The manual actually states that it's not recommended to go above the minimum speed setting for car polishing. Even at 1500rpm, SSR2 was dusting away in one or two passes.
I think I may need a white polishing pad as I think it may be too aggressive.
