Is this a PC?

That looks like a rotary to me. While a rotary can be used, it takes a lot of practice to use one properly.

I've got the Dewalt version (443). If its the same as in the US it comes with the velcro backing plate. Once you take that into account, at least in the US, its only slightly more expensive than the PC, and works great.

Green,

Thanks for the links. checked out the dewalt, but it says speed is from 8400 to 15200rpm. Is that not a little to fast?

very new to the RO scene, but reading her on autopia, i thought they ran up to about 5,000prm or so.

Any more advice you could give me regarding the dewalt would be most helpful,

Thanks

Actually I noticed the opm published on the website on that looked pretty fast. But the Dewalt spec sheet on it says 4300 - 6800 opm only. Check it out:

I have used the DeWalt with meg pads a several times and I never had issues with it creating swirls and other problems on the paint. I even used it with a wool pad and some Megs Compund Power Cleaner with great results. The construction of the unit is pretty solid. The weight of it is just right. It's a little bit noisy, but it's nothing to be really alarmed about. Haven't had complaints from the neighbors yet.

Downside to it might be the lowest speed might be a little too fast to apply wax with it. But I really never used it for that because I do all my waxing by hand.

You can also do a search here in Autopia for more insights. I did most of my research here before buying the tool. There aresome really helpful threads here regarding this.

Cheers!
