Is this a good detailing regime

It's for 2 black cars - G35 and 911

Both have light swirls, nothing major

Both garage kept and rarely driven (e.g., after 38months of ownership, my g35 only has 8,000miles on it.....hell, last time I polished/waxed it was april 2005, and it still shines perfectly....the 911 has even less miles ^_^ )

Both worked on by hand (sorry, had some poor experiences in the past with my mustang, so I prefer to stick mostly with by-hand applications, even though I realize the results won't be quite the same)

What I'm tentatively thinking about is

Poorboy's SS&S Wash

Claybar

Poorboy's SS&S Wash

ClearKote Vanilla Moose

ClearKote Red Moose Glaze

Poorboy's Natty Blue paste wax

Think that's a pretty good detailed regime? In the past I just used to wax it once (with a cleaner wax at that - zymol) once a year and wash every 2-3months, but after reading I figured I could get an even better shine with a better regime.

sounds like a good route. but maybe try mixing the two (vm and rmg) to get pink wax and save yourself a step.

Skip the second wash, not really necessary. Use one or the other Moose Products. VM has some light cleaning ability, may be the better choice. Then proceed with your Nattys. You may experience a little smearing using the glaze and Nuba......Let it sit in the sun for several minutes to thin the oils, then rewipe......

I think you have a great plan. As Patrick said skip econd wash. I like useing the VM and then the Rmg separate. Just my preference. Wait 12 hours and add a second coat of Natty's. STUNNING........

instead of rewashing, just clay the car while it's still wet from rinsing. Generously spray some QD and clay over that. claying and qding all at the same time without 2 drying steps necessary. I like to use VM and RMG separate.

Just so you know, i've used that exactly combo a couple of times on my own personal car. The wetness is just... stunning.

Heh heh, by my standards 8K miles in 38 months is a *lot* of driving :o But anyhow...

I'd get a foamgun and work on the wash technique. Keeping the marring down in the first place would be my primary focus.

I read about pinkwax - I may give it a try sometime i f it really does cut the 2steps into 1 ..... is it a simple 50/50 mixture, or do you have to add anything to get them to bond together?
