What I am looking for is something that will actually remove some minor swirling and surface scratches. I want something that doesnt use fillers but actually takes the problem away instead of hiding it because I am going to be using a sealent on it.

This will be on a new clearcoated paint job just messed by 2 months of winter.

Run a search for Menzerna, swirl removal, dacp, hand application.

Your product and technique will depend on your method of application. If you do not have either a pc dual-action or a rotary buffer, you will need to search for scottwax and dacp and hand application.

Good luck:up

Poorboy's Pro Polish, and SSR polishes do not contain any fillers. They work very nice, and are extremely easy to use.

The Poorboys SSR line *is* nice and easy to work with.

Menzerna's Intensive Polish has no fillers.

I think DACP has no fillers--it does contain some oils for shine but I don't believe they have filling capabilities.

Yep, there is such a product. We call it "polish." :lol (Not making fun of you, RottenDog; I'm just being silly.)

You'll find lots of basic info in this article. Great to hear you already have a PC. So, for how to use the PC to apply a good polish, go to geekysteve's "Porter-Cable for Beginners" article. That should get you started on the right foot.

The decision about which brand/type of polish to use can best be dealt with by others. I'm a fan of the 3M polishes, but there are a gazillion choices out there. You'll find lots of info in the "paint polish" section of Autopia's Reviews forum and by reading thru relevant threads in the Detailing and Detailing Products Discussion forums.

Looks like you have your weekend's work cut out for you. :D

To really remove some scratches you have to level the surface, and that you can do with a fine cut compound and a rotary.

You can try Megs ScratchX by hand on some scratches and see how it works for you. You can also clean that surface with a mix 50/50 of alcohol/water to remove any fillers.

Sometimes fillers are good though.

According to the Poorboys website it illudes to the fact that only SSR2 and 3 are filler free

I dont remember whether or not the DACP bottle claims it to be filler free, but its definately not. 3M's PI-III MG is filler free...
