Hello.

as the title says, Is there any product for vinyl dash that leaves a matte finish?

I've used Aerospace 303 protectant spray and it works really well with a non-slippery finish, unfortunately it is too shiny for my tastes, I like a nice matte finish on my dash.

any suggestions on a product/method that I can use to achieve this?

Thanks in advance

Your 303 is too glossy? I have never heard that before. If you like, try buffing off more of the excess to leave a progressively more and more matte finish. Keep in mind that you're also removing more and more UV protection, too.

PB's Natural Look. You can cut it with water to make it even less glossy if full strength gives too much shine, but even at full strength it leaves a low-gloss.

Optimum Protectant Plus, now called optimum leather protectant (for leather, vinyl, etc) leaves a very light shine which they describe as a satin finish. There is minimal shine and OPP is very highly regarded around here.

Meguiar's interior QD leaves no shine at all and really dulls/mattes things out so that would be perfect if you want zero shine at all.

I recently gave Megs #40 a try after using 303 for years and I will be staying with the #40. It cleans and adds protection so you save a set and leaves a great matte finish even without buffing off, but I did give it a quick wipe with a dry MF after about an hour. Has a new car smell also.

I find #40 and 303 to leave very similar finishes, in that if you don't buff them much they leave a slightly shiny surface, but either one with some buffing will leave nothing but matte clean looking vinyl. I do like the smell of 40 a lot. :)

One more vote for 303...Just try buffing it down a little more. I have some leftover Sonus Total Eclipse that I still enjoy using.

Meguiars Interior detailer (I have others still to try but this is a good one) Meg #40 is gloss but if you give it a final buff it can be buffed to a matte finish

I'm with JuneBug: 1Z Cockpit Plus is all I use. And if I feel like it, some Poorboys Natural Look. Both great products. But Cockpit Plus smells better...

1Z CP, Danase Nu Look.

Also, if you you make a final wipe-down with a *ever-so-slightly* damp MF it will bring down the gloss of any dressing without removing it. Basically dial in your own gloss setting.

wow. so many replies in such a short amount of time! thanks for all your help. matte was the wrong word, satin was the one i was looking for. I will definitely try watering down the 303. if not i'll try your other suggestions.

Thanks again for all your quick replies!
