Is there a good store-bought clay bar? & engine cleaning question

Ordered my BF kit and 303. Forgot all about getting a clay bar or QD spray. Dang it!

So, rather than make another order, is there a good store bought bar? Are some brands "contaminated" and should be avoided? I've got the "mundane" Meguire's QD, would that work well with the clay or should I use a mixture of BF shampoo & water? If so, how much %-wise of shampoo?

Thanks!

Side question: ordered the Eimann engine degreaser to get started cleaning up under there. Should I do a round of Simple Green to loosen it up first? 1991 car, engine never really cleaned, I'm sure.

Clay Magic or Mother's clay kit workwell. I know I have seen Mother's at Walmart of 13.87. Clay magic may be available at your local Autozone, or look into a local paint shop.

I actually use Meguiar's QD for claying. I don't like the whole car wash shampoo mixture because it contains a little too much lubrication for me and the clay is made finer and the finish is left not as smooth as if used with QD.

As for the engine, stick with the Ef cleaner/degreaser. It should be strong enough. (This is based upon my experience with Eimann Fabrik wheel and tire cleaner, stuff is strong!)
