Is poorboys ssr2.5 a rubbing compound that helps pervent swril marks? Or is it just a swril remover that you use after you use a rubbing compound?

A rubbing compound does not prevent swirl marks. Rubbing compound is a term which generally refers to a product with aggressive abrasives. They are used to remove major paint defects after they have occurred. SSR2.5 is a moderately abrasive product. It contains diminishing abrasives which can correct many types of paint imperfections (swirls, cobwebbing, scratches) yet leave a ready to wax finish. SSR3 is more aggressive/powerful than SSR2.5 and would better fit the description of a rubbing compound.

Thanks awd. Ok so if i use ssr2.5 to help clean up paint imperfections do I need to follow up with some kind of swril remover or just a polish?

many people go straight to a wax or sealant after using SSR2.5,some people would use a final polish like SSR1, PwC, or AIO, then it would really depend on how bad the finish was previous to starting and then how well you work the SSR2.5 ....sometimes multiple passes are needed, once with a cutting pad and then again with a polishing pad, but each application and each vehicle are different.
