I too use the Sonus Wunder Wasche, but the Oxyclean detergent should be ok. Their percarbonate bleach alternative shouldn't hurt the pads IMO.

If it is powder and not a liquid however, I would use something else. Powders don't always dissolve completely unless they are really agitated in hot water and it also depends on your water hardness, etc. I don't want to take a chance with any undissolved soap residue in my pads so I prefer to stick with liquid detergents.

Should I just use my Duragloss car wash soap on the pads? That's a liquid.

I'd save the Duragloss for the car. Like I said, just make sure the powdered detergent is completely dissolved.

Or, try something like Tide-free, or even some APC/degreaser. I'll generally start with a diluted APC presoak and then follow with a complete wash.

update:

Today, i just finished using a ColorX & #21 combo on my truck...

the colorx has a similiar consistency to NXT, it's hard get out of the pads. I soaked the pads right after use... then i soaked them in a hot water/dawn mix for about an hour... it got about 1/2 the stuff out, but my white pads were still grey.

So after working the pads for about 5 minutes.. i took the pads out, and put some new hot water in the bucket. I threw in some tide and some oxiclean.. put the pads in, worked it for about 10 seconds each, and they were as good as new. wow!

Your mileage may vary.

I use dawn/oxyclean mixture to clean my pads.I've washed them about 10 times or so with no problems to date. I will add that with Hi-Temp Medium cut, no soaking was needed as the product was very easy to clean out of the pad. It was so easy that I'd venture to guess that it's a water based product, even though the smell would suggest otherwise. I know when I used Megs#2 or Mothers PowerPolish or Vanilla Moose, it was a task to get the damn pads clean and soaking was necessary, although not for an hour. I'd rinse the pads and work them to get as much of the product out as possible, then make my mixture and work it into the pad then let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then I could work the pad some more in the mixture and get all the remaining product out with no problem.
