is my porter cable dead?

so today my porter cable started acting up. it seems to shut itself off every now and then, but if i somewhat move around the power cord coming out the back of the pc, it seems to start working again. however, if the power cord moves significantly it shuts off again. i've had the pc for less than six months and it's seen very little use. if it is the power cord, is this a fix i can perform myself? according to the porter cable website there is a service center about 30 min away, would it be better to take it to the service center?

You could also mail it to them, but 30 mins is not that bad. I would let them fix it.

I would just grab a extension cord cut off the end

My PC acted up the same way. There was a break in the cord. If you wrap the cord around the handle to tight, , it causes the wiring inside of the cord to break down and short itself out.



I took mine to a Porter Cable service center and they put on a better quality, longer cord for $30 and change.
