I'm fixing a deep gouge for a buddy (writeup to come!) and I think I see clear, but I'm just not sure. Any input would be appreciated.

I depends on the color. Taffy White and the newest Red are SS paints I believe. I can ask my father who works at the factory in the material services department (handles all the parts, paint, etc).

Guys, nearly all cars today are clear-coated. You'll be hard pressed to find one that is single stage paint.

I'm in the camp that loves SS white paint. I know a lady that has a '91 Legend that's SS white. It has 240k+ miles on it and the paint is all original. It still looks great other than dings and scratches. Call it cheap if you want but if you look at pretty much all the other BC/CC Legends of that vintage and newer, they almost all have CC failure.
