Is the current Armor All a water based dressing?

Anyone have a picture of what it looks like on tires?

Per the Armor All MSDS:

Section 3 - Composition/Information on Ingredients

Ingredients CAS No Conc,% TWA (mg/m3) STEL (mg/m3)

Silicone fluid 5-10 not set not set

Other non hazardous ingredients secret <5 not set not set

This is a commercial product whose exact ratio of components may vary slightly. Minor quantities of other non

Also wanted to mention that AA will leave a glossy sheen on tires (albeit short lived)...IMO I think a dedicated tire/rubber protectant will look and last longer.

Armor all is a water based product. There are different types of silicones and Armor all is a water based silicone emulsion.

It froze in my trunk during that cold snap in January. Definitely a high water content.

Scottwax,

I went out and bought some Armor All today. I was at Walmart and they had the Original Protectant in a large jug and then they had this new and improved original formula in a standard spray bottle. Which do you buy?

And do you use it to dress tires in all of your writeups?

The half gallon should be the new formula too, it is a bit thicker than it used to be. Yes, all the tires/fenderwells in my write-ups are dressed with Armor All unless otherwise specified.

I won't be using Armour All inside my car because it is supposed to speed up deteriation of plastic and leather.

Another reason is there attitude of contributing something to a car show we are having in May. When asked for something to give out their response was. We are Sorry but we only give out samples and products during natural disasters to those who need it. Well we have had 3 floods around here in the last 6 years and have yet to see anything from their parent company Clorox. I won't be buying anything more from them.

Armor All won't hurt interior vinyls and plastics, just makes them a bit too shiny, IMO.

Whether or not a company choses to give out free samples doesn't matter to me one bit, especially since most companies get asked non-stop. They are first and foremost a business, not a charity. At least that's what I think.

i might need to try that armor all on tires and see how that works out cost wise. Using some foam right now sometimes mixed with a little megs hyper dressing but armor all might not be a bad way to go

I used to use Armor All but was never satisfied with its results. It was OK at best but there are other products out there light-years ahead of Armor All, like,

Meguiar's M40

Poorboy's World Trim Restorer

303 Aerospace

Wolfgang Vinyl & Rubber Protectant

I'm sure there are more but these are the ones I've personally had experience with.
