is 85RD necessary after 106?

I would say 99 percent of the time, no. 106ff is one of the the best finishing polishes I have used (better then any other brand out there). The only thing better is 85, but I haven't really noticed a difference when its used after 106.
 
I have both and personally I like 106 better. 85 would work good for those ultra soft finishes. It also has alot more lube oils in it that are a pain.



106ff on a rotary with a polish pad works flawless with no marks at all if worked correctly. It's actually easy to use too.
 
I tried using 085 after 106ff on the wifes BMW late Oct the last time it was polished. I could not tell a difference in appearance at all.
