Is 26 suppose to be like this?

I recently bought some Meguiars 26 paste wax, the consistency of the wax is somewhat grainy, i get little yellow grains of wax when applying it, i used s100 b4 this and it was very smooth to apply and had no 'grains' to it at all, did i just get a bad can or is this what 26 is like? Thanks
 
I've seen that occasionally. I wouldn't be to worried about it.



Grainy though, is it dirt from previous applications or just really little clumps of wax?
 
Its definately little clumps of wax, its been like this since i first opened it, i know that it is not dirt.
 
I've found that if you "spin" or wipe the appicator in the wax a few times, it softens it some. Putting the can out in the sun or someplace warm also helps.
 
I second Slackmiester. Mike Phillips posted something about this before to liquify the paste #26...A way I did it ocne was apply the wax with my fingers. Swirl your index middle and ring finger up in the #26 and apply, after half the car your finger seems to cramp out, or at least mine did. I'll stick to foam for now...

Literal hand application can be pain the a-s eh. I fully agree. I tried it a few times and found using a foam pad much easier. I did like being able to feel the surface though but in the end, I'd rather not get carpal tunnel!
 
Hmm, I just checked out my (dusty :p) jar of #26 now and it actually does appear to have tiny "beads" of harder looking material distributed throughout it. I can't say I've noticed it while waxing though. While it's nowhere near as easy as S100 I've usually found #26 to apply "smoothly". :nixweiss



This isn't just loose bits of wax on the top is it? I've had those when the jar was new....
 
I have seen the same thing with the #26, I took it back and got the liquid. When I called meguiar's they said it should not have anything grainy in it. Glad to see I wasn't crazy. I haven't used it in a whille anyway:confused:
 
Im so glad it wasnt just me, i personally think this stuff is a mess when waxing, but maybe thats just me, im going to set it out in the sun all day tomorow and let it melt, if that doesnt work i dont really care, ill just buy s100 from now on, thanks guys
