Is 2.5 hp enough?

I have been reading all the threads on shop vac and was looking at a Ridgid vac... The question I had is, I wanted something nice and small. Is the RIDGID 6 GALLON WET/DRY VAC with 2.5 PEAK HP MOTOR enough? Or should I get the 5hp 12 gallon?

TIA!

If you could I would get the 5hp. I have the Craftsman 5 hp wall vac and sometimes wish it had a little more power. I can't imagine a 2.5hp. I also read though that the actual size (more gallons) also effects the suction of the vac, its not all hp. I'd do some searching, I know this topic has been talked about in-depth on more than one occasion.

Ok thanks, I did search and read all thread... Most did reccomend the 5hps and the Ridgid brand. Guess I will go with the 5hp 12 gallon.

Rigid's 4 Gallon, 5HP vac kicks serious butt, and takes up very little room- look for it! (It's a square vac, rather than the ususal round; it's easy to spot)

Yeah I bought the 12-gallon Craftsman 5-horsepower wet/dry vacuum and it is somewhat of a hassle to tug around but no biggie really. It does have the blowing port which the 4-gallon Craftsman 5-horsepower unit does not. :p

Yea I was just looking for something small and powerful. Since I would not want to lug around a 12 gallon vac :D...
