IROC-Z from Blackdog... movie stunt car

Since the review said tha Zaino is basically the same as Blackfire, I don't see any point in trying Blackfire anymore. I will stick with Zaino for the wheels and Klasse + Carnauba for the 3D look.

I intend to try blackfire at some point.....

All and all it was a good review on usability and shine. I would like to compare how the shine lasts, and protection and slickness lasts wash after wash on an outdoor car.

Why do you use zaino only on the wheels and KLASSE on the paint?

The review did NOT say it was basically the same. Yes, they both scored high on almost all categories, but there were a few noteworthy differences. I should have PDF'd it sooner.

Same as Zaino? It's not very wise to make a decision or generalization based on one person's OPINION. At any rate, who's post was it. Laters

I can't wait to use Blackfire. What I am thinking is that even though it may not be as good as Zaino (in one persons review) that the benefit of no cure time greatly out weighs any down side. I can apply a dozen coats a day if I want to. (and believe me I want to!) I want to be the first person to have 100 coats on my car. :D :D :D ...well, maybe not 100 but damned close! I have a dozen or more coats (I lost count) of KSG on my car and nearly that in Pinnacle paste glaz and that took me all summer to do. I dream about getting my Blackfire and throwing on as many coats on a Saturday as I can. I think I can do 10 to start out with. :) I am majorly obsessed with polishing my car so this product will be like my best dream come true (minus the girls stretched across the hood). I welcome reviews of this product vs other stuff. It just makes my expectations even greater.

The bottom line is that even if it doesn't compare to other products on the first coat then it will more than surpass them on the 10th coat on the same day. You can get ultimate shine faster with a product you can put limitless coats on in the same day. I can't wait!!

brdman,

I share your enthusiasm and obsession with putting on coat after coat after coat. But if I remember correctly, 3 is the most you can put on in a single day for each product. When applying the fourth coat, DavidB reported that it became difficult to apply as well as remove.

But hey, look at it this way. It'll only take you 34 days to put on 102 coats and reach your goal!

Thanks Ric. Very interesting info with regards to the new BlackFire product. Anyone who wants to apply more than 3 layers of any product in one day is certainly an Autopian.

3 a day huh? hmmm...... Ok. I guess I can live with that. Maybe I will just go to 25 coats and see what it does. :) If I did 3 coats on Sat and 3 on Sun then I could get my 25 done in almost a month. :)

Earlier today I came across a yard that had this find, supposedly one of the IROC-Z's used in the filming of the movie.

If you are not familiar with the movie, Blackdog

Was interesting to see how much bracing/roll bars were added throughout the vehicle. Apparently this Camaro was used in the scene where the back glass of the hatch was blown out, and they tape up the back window with duct tape. In one of the photos you can see some of the remnants of the adhesive on the body. Although someone apparently down the time of ownership replacing the broken glass with an intact unit.

I thought it was nifty to come across this today.

The "mud" around the wheel wells was apparently paint?
