IPA Dilution

Since I joined the forum, I have seen people post that after compounding, they wipe the car down with IPA. I have seen people post 50:50, 40:60, 60:40, etc dilution rates and I have started this thread to talk about what works for you and why. I would like to just use CarPro Eraser, but IPA is just SO much cheaper and from what I read, they are nearly identical.

So, what is your dilution rate and why?

Mike P is adamant about <15% solution.

I vary what I use for the "IPA wipedown" - IPA, Eraser, Megs Glass Cleaner. I have recently been following with a steam wash.

I read an article by Mike Phillips stating you need no more than 10-15%, and going higher can damage the clear coat. I put 2oz of 70% into a 16oz spray bottle, and fill the remainder with water. Seems to work well enough, though optimal results require two wipe downs.

Personally, I've been using a 1:10 ratio (70% alcohol : distilled water). That's been working for *me*
I used to use 1:1, but didn't like when the wind caught the mist and I smelled it. So I turned it down some.
That's the why. And, it's still working out for me at the 1:10.
