Interior Wood Trim Cleaning

I was just wondering which product you would recommend to clean the interior wood Trim. I have an BMW X5 with dark wood trim. I believe there is a layer of clear plastic on top. I was wondering if Maguiars's Plastic Care #10 and #17 are perfect for the job or will they scratch the surface. I did a search and people are waxing their interior. Is this recommended. I just wanted to clean and make it look shinny like the first day I got the car. Or do you know of any other product that works great. Thanks a bunch.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

Most BMW woods have a fragile layer of clearcoat on top. I would treat it the same way you do with your paint, except with even more care. Meguiar's SMR 2.0 with a soft T-shirt should take care of any swirls. A quick detailer such as Z6 or OGSO is a great way to keep it shiny.

Meguiar's Plastic Care #10 is nothing more than rebottled #7 Show Car Glaze at a higher price.

Good luck!

Wow thanks for the comments. I'll try to get some Meguiar SMR2.0. Can I pick that up at the local auto parts store or is that a special online Item. Thanks again.

Zaino Z2 on the wood trim on my bmw, and maintain it with Z6 and a microfiber towel. Be careful, it scratches VERY easily........

Klasse AIO works good on interior wood trim also. Easy on and off using a MF or foam applicator and a MF towel for removal. I have yet to try Zaino so I can only vouch for AIO on interior trim. It's nice to have that protection inside the car.
