Interior window problem

hi, i washed car and cleaned windows recently.

this morning i rolled window down/up ... afterwards there was water on a the inside of the window, but not on the outside ... it seems that water found its way into the door. The water is smeared on the inside, covering about 30% of the window, towards the front.

i tested by making sure everything was dry and tried again so im sure water is trapped in there.

its an '05 2dr Civic, anyway, in washing other cars i've never noticed this, is this a problem anyone else has run into? perhaps this is this a defect?

It happens. Try driving with the window all the way down to dry out that seal, clean your window, and see if it happens again. Water gets in all sorts of wierd places, your vehicle wasn't designed to be waterproof, just rainproof. Washing the car forces the water in all the nooks and crannies at much higher pressure than rain.

Sounds like either a defective window seal or door drain that is not working. Have you given any thought to asking your Honda dealer about this problem?

I asked about it, they sounded very annoyed and hesitant to book a service appointment.

I'm going to just drive in and show them the problem

Good idea. I'm sure that once they actually see the problem they will figure out what is going on and get it fixed.

I took the car to local Honda dealership this morning, they said that this is normal.

They said the inside lining can get wet, I was not convinced as theres too much water coming up and the lining is dry now (at least the edges) and water must be coming up from lower within the door. Anyway, they aren't really willing to look at it further. :wall

I want to know if anyone who's detailed lots of cars has seen this as a common problem, if so , I won't worry about it.

Again, the entire window area is dry including seals around the window. When window is closed and opened water is coming from deeper inside the door and getting smeared on the inside window surface. oddly enough, the exterior window part is dry

to the dealer. If there is another dealer nearby take it there for a second opinion. I agree that this is a seal problem.
