Interior question?

I did an interior last night on an 02 sable with very light cream colored leather. I tried, for the first time, the woolite mix and was happy with it. it cleaned well, doesnt have a strong odor and didnt leave residue. What Im wondering is:

1. What do you pro's use on the tougher spots (heavy soil, or gease spots)?

2. what do you use to remove dog slobber (I could see some spots when I was wiping the seats down)?

3. What dressings do you prefer? I like the look of #40 over 303, but is it silicone based and does it have the UV protection of 303?

4. Best "tools" for cleaning nooks and crannies, cup holders, etc?

TIA.

While I am certainly no pro detailer, here's what I would do...

1. I have had very good luck on carpet with Tuff Stuff.

2. Any leather cleaner (I have the Zaino kind) should remove saliva.

3. I use 303, not quite as shiny, and as you mentioned, no silicones.

4. Cheap throw-away foam brushes. The crafts stores regularly place the 1" brushes on sale @ 20 for $1.00

Dependent upon the leathers condition or how dirty it is consider a leather-cleaning product as an alternative (Groit’s Leather Cleaner or Leatherique’s Prestine Clean)

b) Maintenance- recommend a preventative maintenance routine three to four times a year, once prior to the winter season to prevent cold temperatures cracking the leather, and once before the heat of the summer to prevent deterioration and shrinkage by heat, which result in continued cracking of leather. In addition to regular cleaning, leather requires replacement of natural oils; Collagen-based products restore the lost moisture and maintain it’s natural flexibility. The smell of leather comes from oils evaporating out of the hide. Once every 30-60 days, Arizona, Florida and Texas, especially in summer, for northern climates between 90-120 days, use a leather conditioner to restore these natural oils and keep the leather soft and supple. Groit’s leather cleaner is a good maintenance product

c) UV Protection- you should consider additional sunscreen protection (especially if you own a convertible) Leather conditioners typically do not offer any UV screening. The best solution is to alternate between a leather conditioner and 303 Aerospace Protect rant. One month use a conditioner to keep the leather healthy and supple. On alternate months mist and wipe the leather with 303 protectant to add UV protection. After application allow an hour for product to cure, then using a 100% cotton cloth lightly buff surface.
