I've falled in love with Einszett's Plastik-Reniger [sp?], which I bought thru Autopia CarCare. Amazingly effective and easy-on/easy-off. Have also used PoorBoy's Natural Look, but the 1Z product seemed a bit more effective.

I think you're right: Simple Green is just too harsh for the interior vinyl/plastic.

Incidentally, I think one of the most under-utilized sections of Autopia is the Reviews section (click link at the top of the page). You'll find 5 interior cleaners reviewed here. Maybe those will help you a bit.

whic product u mean from 1z Lynn ? the 1Z vinyl cleaner or the 1Z cockpit premiun ? or i am totally talking different product u mentioning ?

Also any one can tell me what's the different between those 2 ? seems like they are very similiar

cause now i use 303 on vinyl but before i re-apply the 303 i wanna use some cleaner on the vinyl first and then do the 303.

Again any help on the roof of the interior part ?

Thanx again all

Aha! I see David has changed the Autopia descriptions since I placed my last order. Yes, you guessed right: The effective (for me) cleaner is the 1Z Vinyl Cleaner. The Cockpit Premium is more like a "quick detailer" for the interior -- not nearly as effective at cleaning, but a great touch-up product.

After I had discovered the 1Z Vinyl Cleaner and used it a couple of times, I took it to my next Jaguar club meeting, and I swear half-a-dozen people, after trying it, were swearing by it. :up

I'm not familiar with the Integra. You're talking about the headliner -- the part that sits over your head? In all my cars, it's fabric, but you say it's "not cloth." So I'm not sure how to answer. :nixweiss

yeah i don;t think mine is fabric either , no matter what

thanx for all ur help Lynn , oh one more thing so did u use the 1z on the headliner ?

just curious , do u do the cleaning using the cleaner everytime before u re-apply the protectant ?

No, I don't. If I "keep up" with the interior -- catching it before it gets really dirty -- then I can just use something like Cockpit Premium or just a slightly-damp microfiber. I only have to use the 1Z Vinyl Cleaner when things get "out of control" (i.e., when I've gotten lazy and let it get really dirty). :(

sorry Lynn , it's getting endless here but something just pop up from my head , since it said the 1z cleaner / the premium will give u anti-static so did u just leave it as it is after those product or u still apply product like 303 to protect ?

those 1z product sure got my attention

The headliner in your acura integra is vinyl "i think" a buddy of mine had an integra, 303 should work just fine. I like to clean my vinyl with Eimann Fabrik spot cleaner, a product like Formula 409 would also work just fine.

I think you've now officially gone over my head, mrbean. :D Yeah, I typically use the 1Z Vinyl Cleaner followed by 303 when I do deep-cleaning. But I don't really have a "scientific" reason for doing so. Other folks on Autopia could comment on that with lots more credibility. But I do not apply 303 more often than once a month. It just doesn't seem worthwhile. Again, that's not based on any scientific/technical knowledge. :( I'd suggest you contact some of the manufacturers/retailers here who might have more technical info -- like DavidB thru the Autopia Car Care forum, Mike at the Einszett forum, or the new 303 forum. And, no doubt, other Autopians will offer their comments when they all wake up tomorrow.

I think most headliners are a felt like material and you need to watch shrinkage. Years ago I soaked a headliner to clean it and it pulled away everywhere and needed replacing.

I now only use a damp MF or maybe a small brush if there are any bad stains but generally I try to keep moisture away as much as I can.

As for products I stick with my trusty 1001 carpet shampoo - there may be better out there but I've alweays got good results with this product, used as per instructions on bottle.
