First thanks again to The Stig and PBMG for letting me try and test the new line of Pinnacle Black Label 850.

Background on car: This is my 2001 Acura TL, after I got my 2013 Acura TL this car has not got the attention it deserves. After 180k miles and 13 years of owner ship the car has endured some abuse from me. For the last year or so the car has been parked outside and maybe driven couple of times a week. With working full time at my firm and finishing grad school this coating was just the love this car needs.

Here’s some before pics

Water spots removed with Pinnacle Glassworks Water Spot remover with white pad on Flex.

The headlights need some attention as well.

Lets get started with a nice foam bath with Chemical Guys Mr. Pink followed by a second wash with Iron X snow soap.

Pulled the car into the garage and clayed with Pinnacle Poly Clay with ONR

Next I took care of the glass with Pinnacle glass works, and then the headlights with Wolfgang Uber compound with white flat pad and finished with Wolfgang finishing glaze and red pad; IPA wipe and topped with Black Label Diamond Surface Coating on the headlights. Next started on the paint with DP Coating Prep. I did not do any correction, with the car being so old and plenty of rock chips it wasn’t worth the time. Coating prep was applied with white ccs pads with speed of 4 on a flex 3401.

In a couple of other threads I have noticed the discussion on what’s the difference between the DP coating and this. I decided to do passenger side of the hood and passenger fender with DP.

Application: Applying the Pinnacle was much easier than when I used DP coating on my wife’s car 2 month ago. I primed the new LC coating applicator with the coating and couple of squirts per panel and spread. The product spread effortlessly almost like a WOWA sealant.

The Car is coated and will be sitting in the garage overnight, the new one will be spending the night outside..

Finished random shots from today, the looks is everything Pinnacle Black Label describes: Glassy.

I have the DP coating, and just placed an order for the Pinnacle.
I almost bought everything in their line and check out at close to $500!

Great review Dhaval. I messed with some more of the Black Label products last night. I hope to have some pics up later today or tomorrow.

thanks dhaval. could you see any obvious difference in the shine on your side by side application? both seem to look pretty good.

50/50 again, you can see the DP side has more water on the surface than Black Label.

In shine I have not noticed a difference Steve, my eyes are getting old...Almost 30 man...stuff is starting to go:D

Excellent review! Looking forward to the follow ups! :rockon

Thanks!

I am retired and money is something I watch carefully, but, I am going to get this coating! Now, Mr. Murphy stayed over a few days and my trusty air compressor went tango uniform, my bottle of Wet Diamond got run over by an idiot-me, and my college daughter gave me a list of stuff she "has" got to have. Murphy - I hate that guy. But sometimes you just have to empty that change jar, call on a few favors owed and live a little.

Nicley done Dhaval!!!

I know you have also used the PBL DSC (Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Coating) as well. What do you think of them in comparison?

Hey Troy,
When comparing the two I felt that it was much easier to apply the paint coating vs the surface coating; the difficulty for me was that the surface coating flashed much quicker. The surface coating, when comparing difficulty of applying is on par with DP paint coating. But by no means is it hard.

Also on a side note, when I used the surface coating humidity was much higher than the day I used paint coating.

Looks wise I can’t tell a difference, and I kinda do like you only need one product to coat your car top to bottom with the surface coating.

:wall :wall :wall

I gotta figure out which on i'm gonna use :wall

If you already have the DP; save your drinking money...:D..

Pinnacle defiantly excels in ease of application, and little goes a long way compared to the DP. I feel like I over used product when I did the DP on wifeys car.

Well, we all know I don't mind over using product
