Self-healing paint

The EX comes standard with Nissan's new "fluid finish" technology. The specialized paint has been tested in Japan on the X-Trail crossover, but the launch of the EX marks the first time the technology will be available in America.

Minor scratches in the clearcoat will disappear in hours or days thanks to an elastic resin that flows back into shape after being damaged.

this should be interesting. i can't wait until an autopian gets a chance to check this paint out in person. this car is high on my list of next vehicles.

I saw it in a car mag. as long its a minor one they said it does work. Will have to wait for one to post about it.

I've read and even seen a short video on it. It does look interesting. I wonder how it polishes. Maybe you can go from a cut compounding and spray with hot water to make it swirl free.LOL

Not sure if it was on YouTube or where but after a few swirls they poured hot-warm water on it and it self healed. Whether it works that easy, is yet to be discovered.
